This is a piece of crap. This program sucks if you have ever used Sound Forge 6.

I had to upgrade because windows XP is no longer supported, and I had to upgrade to Windows 7. This program works nothing like the previous versions of Sound Forge and you cannot access the level controls, EQ and other stuff. I have tried to get help from the supplier and I cannot even find a place to get answers. The barcode link supplied on the box does not work.

It will not open anything except WAV files. I tried re-installing it and the activation code no longer works. I keep getting a message, “The program will now restart to complete the upgrade process”.

I click on OK and the same message re-appears and wants the code again and again and again. I purchased this software to add to my notebook PC so I can record our group in various locations. The smaller program size is beneficial. A real advantage for me is to be able to work on the same file with both products. The menu selections are similar. So, there’s almost no learning curve, as knowing how to use one product makes it easier to use the other. The iZotope products are an added plus for the Audio Studio, especially the “audio exciter,” which adds some needed “air” to dull-sounding transcriptions.

I purchased this product to do some audio editing for our radio broadcasts. The product would not download correctly and, after the initial attempt to download it, I was not able to get it cleared off of my computer in order to try and the download process again. After requesting a refund for my purchase I was told that a refund would be sent to me but after waiting the time that they had said it would take for my refund to be deposited it was not there.

I called to ask about what had happened and was told that the refund was never processed on their end and that someone had “dropped the ball”.

Still waiting for my refund. When starting to install this product, it said the file is corrupted. I redownloaded it and got the same message three times. I would like my refund. This gets the job done but it is not user friendly. It took reading the manual and watching demonstration videos several times over to use this program and I have previously built 3 websites.

For the money it is the best program I have found, just be ready to spend some time learning the ropes with this software. It tells me that it works for windows XP and window 7 after I bought it and installed it.

Fair – but the cd authoring and burning facility is limited. You have to obtain CD Architect or other software to put track marks etc onto the CDs you make, otherwise it will only burn a ‘track at once’ from. For private use using non-copyright material, obviously Not much use for making your own opera CDs where you will obviously want to put a track mark at the beginning of an act, scene, or favourite aria. Much easier to use than Audacity. There is no multi-channel support so it’s either mono or stereo, and many of the most useful parts are absent from this cut-down version – no batch processing, no editing of unity MIDI note or other SMPL chunk data.

However, once you use this, there’s no going back to Audacity, this is just a lot easier to use, faster, looks better, works better, and the plug-ins are much better quality, very impressed by the vocal remover although it wasn’t something I expected to use. I recently had the privilege to write, record and mix a special radio program and decided to use Sound Forge 10, which is the software the station uses. While recording at our local radio station, I noticed that the program would drop audio in random places: I could see the audio signal on the screen, but the playback was dead silence.

Upon installing a fresh copy on my home studio PC, it did the same thing! I spent valuable time going back to the source audio, copying and pasting, to replace the dead time with the exact same audio that would actually play. Thankfully I got the program finished, days before airtime One person found this helpful.

There is absolutely no customer support. The phone number takes you to a message and then hangs up on you Sony sold this product to Magix Audio. When the program stopped working and I reloaded it the program it will no longer accept the serial number.

The program is worthless without a working serial number. Though I like the program itself I will not buy it again because Sony sold it out to another company. And if this is the way Magix Audio treats their customers then I will never buy a product from them.

This should not happen! Trial will work great, but actual product once you buy wouldnt register. Complete waste of money. I like the product but because is an older version hard to buy, some ads on amazon do not furnish registration key.

I was trying to see if having a new download would register. No it did not. I finally found a way to get the version I already own to register on a new computer. Didn’t need the Amazon trial version. Perhaps it’s because Sony sold Sound Forge to another company, but in any case I was unable to download and run it.
